Windsurfing SPI

Since the early 80's South Padre Island has been a top destination for Windsurfers. The warm water and strong winds allow Windsurfers to enjoy the Laguna Madre and Gulf of Mexico.

Windsurfing may not be as popular as it once was but this is still a "Hot Spot"

Windsurfing has been around since the late seventies and enjoyed a major boom in the mid eighties thru the mid nineties. South Padre offers one of the most varied windsurfing local's in the USA with conditions varying totally flat speed runs at the Ditch to big gnarly waves over at Boca Chica.
